Hello,
I am running air by GC/MS, agilent 7890a/5975c. Recently we've discovered a strange mass 32 in a wave-like pattern throughout the spectra. It was found this week where it turned into a distinct noise spikes. I've replaced the source heater and the noise spikes subsided to previous wave. It hasn't affected the analysis (it's been going on for about a year now unnoticed), but there's definitely something amiss here. The MS is leak free. The pressure and temperature settings remain as should. The pattern of it all seems like an electrical issue, but I can't seem to pin point the source, and neither can more senior analysts. Has anyone come across something like this?
We set our MS so only peaks over 35 were detected.
