Has anyone replaced the oven motor on their 6890 and how difficult was it? I am considering this repair because my fan suddenly shut off while the oven was cooling down after a run. It will not come back on after reloading the method. Restarting the instrument did not help.

I've done this on a 5890 and I think you should try it yourself. Either way, yourself or repair engineer, you'll be buying a motor. I still would first call Agilent 800-227-9770 telephone tech help and see if there's an easy way to check to see if the motor is really the reason, maybe there's a dedicated fuse, etc.

There are sevaral fuses on the main power supply board, and if my memory is correct one of these is for the fan motor. I believe there is also a relay for turning the fan off and on.

A belated thank you to the responders. It was, in fact, a fuse on the AC power board.
