Hi all,

I am new here. I plan to buy a LC/MS/MS for toxic contaminants analysi in environmental and food samples, like vet drugs, pesticides, nitrofurans, etc. in accordance with EU regulations.

Due to our limited budget, I can only choose among the following:
1) API 4000 Qtrap coupled with UPLC
2) API 4000 coupled with UPLC
3) Waters Xevo coupled with UPLC
4) Agilent 6430

Because Waters Xevo and Agilent 6430 are new models and new technology compared with API 4000, I don't know if their perfomances are much better than API 4000 in view of sensitivity and robustness.

I still hestitate about that as all sales claimed their instrument is the best. Hence, I am pleased if you could give me some advices on those models.
Or what kinds of blind samples are suitable for the evaluation of their performances. Thank you for your help and advices.

Get a demo done with every vendor. Then you will have your evidence on which instrument is better for your applications.

Before Buying

Prepare samples and let them or if allowed you to run it and compare the results.
Check which of them have a representative in your area. In how long can react to your order for service?

After Buying
let them run your samples and when you happey with results pay for them
