looking for HILIC test standard

Dear expert peers,

I am packing bare-silica HILIC columns and I need a test standard for method development and QC.

A colleague suggested that I use cinnamyl alcohol (retained) and toluene (unretained) as the analytes. However this looks like a normal phase test mix, I don't know if it will be a good test of HILIC function.

Does anyone know of a commercially prepared standard that I could purchase for testing of bare-silica HILIC columns? I've searched to no avail.

the test you want to do will check if you have done a good packing of the column for your needs
in my view it will have nothing to do with which type of interaction you do it either absorption or HILIC.
in that test you will check for plate count, symetry and resolution and such.
if it is important for you to know that it is good for a given application based on a specific separation mode, then you need to create the test yourself and see over time if you are doing a good enough work packing the columns.

since you are anyway packing silica, it will be better for you to test against something using an absorption mechanisem since it is more common and so you will findit easier to see if you have packed your column well enough

Unmgvar offers good insight, I don't have to use a HILIC based test to verify the quality of column packing. The simpler, the better.

Hollow, your previous thread spells out several sets of test conditions and analytes perfectly. This gives me a good idea of where to start, thanks.
