Peak Purity

Can someone explain to me how peak purity is calculated?

Go to waters website.....check out there online libary...you will have to register to do this....you will get all the info you need there

Agilent has an alternative approach to assigning peak purities as well.

Both methods essentially look for any differences in the changes across the UV spectrum at either end of a given peak or they compare either end to the middle of the peak, the assumption being that if there are two different substances nearly co-eluting, they will have at least slightly different UV spectra, so you look for these differences.
