Hitachi L-7400 UV detector

I have a Hitachi Lachrom HPLC system that was given to us and I can't get the lamp of the detector to come on. I keep getting an error message stating that the lamp has been turned off by and external input. However I don't have any input and since I have an error message I can't access the menu of the latest program ran. Any suggestions would be helpful.
