Varian ProStar communication error with pumps

My Varian ProStar is getting a communication error which takes out of line at least one of the pumps. The error is at random (every 5 min - 1 hour). Checked connections and they seem to be firm and in place. Would appreciate receiving suggestions to solve the problem.
