Hi people!
Does anybody have any Calibration Procedure for Natural Gas Analysis by GC?
Thanks

Varian produce an instrument (NatGasB) specifically for this analysis so they may have relevent information on their website.

There is not a general procedure, it will be dependent on your GC. You will first need a calibration gas which contains all of the compounds that you will be looking for in your sample, and at the approximate concentrations that you expect.
You will then need to set up the valve timing, so that you have separation of the compounds. Once this is done, you can calibrate your GC with the calibration mixture, using a data system.
If you are going to do calculations, such as BTU values, you will need software to do that. Be aware that the calculations require the analysis results to be in Mole% values.
