Dionex ICS-2000 & AutoNeutralization Module

I need to be able to detect chlorate in 50% NaOH and 50% KOH down to 10 ppm. The best that my Dionex ICS-2000 can do is about 30 ppm. I understand that an autoneutralization module will solve my problem. Dionex tells me that the module can not be installed in the 2000 and I have to upgrade to the ICS-3000. That is a $50k-$60k investment.

One of my sister plants tells me that they have a "stand alone" neutralizer module connected to a "very ancient" DX500. The sister plant advises me that the proper name for the module is SP10, it should be equipped with ASRN 300 neutralizer and ION PAC TAC-LP1 anion concentrator column.

Is it really impossible to connect a neutralizer to the ICS-2000, or is Dionex trying to make a sale?

Get your sister plant to give you more details about the retrofit that they did, and then call your Dionex sales person with those details. Ask him/her to explain why the same cannot be done for your system. If you don't get a clear explanation, escalate and ask to talk to someone in applications or tech support.
