Hello everybody.

my 5890A´s display suddenly showed:

FAULT:
ADC OFFSET.

I read the manual and I found:
"Indicates a problem with the thermal ADC offset reading. Check R168 and R172 in the main board".

but before the problem another one had been happening: an unusual base line:


the detector was turned off.

Are these problems related each other?
Does the problem have solution without buying another mainboard? I mean, replacing components instead.
any suggestions will be appreciated.

If the problem persists, you need a new mainboard. The baseline you are seeing could be an indication of electronic noise created by your system. Although I have seen this kind of baseline with a detector off and so long as it doesn't affect my chromatography, I don't worry about it.
