GC instrument and software related problem

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

We have a Model 910 Buck Scientific GC in our lab. Lately we noticed
that whenever we turn on the GC and interface it with the computer
using the Peaksimple software (version 3.29), the thermocouple alarm
goes out of range. Another thing we noticed that even in the absence
of a temperature programme the total set point for oven temperature
goes as high as 548 deg C,(while the local set point is just 40-50
deg C).

It has presented a situation that we are unable to operate the GC to
do our routine analysis. So kindly send a prompt reply to help us sort
out the problem as early as possible.

Most likely the temperature sensor for the oven is faulty. Simplest solution will be to replace it.
