Denatonium benzoate determinate

Hi ,
I’d like to determinate bitrex from denatured ethanol with GC FID detector,
I have tried to calibrate the GC but I cant’t because I have never seen the bitrex peak in any concentration.
Any idea somebody?

Not the answer you're looking for, but we always used HPLC for denatonium benzoate, much more straightforward.

I can find a melting point of 168C but nobody lists a boiling point or vapor pressure. If it can't be vaporized then I doubt GC will work to determine it.

For something to be analyzed by GC it has to have an appreciable vapor pressure within the temperature limits of the column stationary phase. On the other hand it appears very soluble in water and alcohols so it should work very well on HPLC.
