for gc how does temperature affect resolution, retention factor, and total analysis time

imo, the lower temp would increase total analysis time because everything takes longer to boil/heat up and to elute

futhermore since a lower temp is longer analysis time then retention would also be higher since the dead time marker would stay consistent but tr would be more

and for resolution i would say higher temperature lowers resolution? but i dont have good reasoning why and how

is there anything im missing for any of these?

thx

The other factor is that different molecules can have different relationships between retention and temperature, which means that the relative spacing of the peaks can change with temperature.
