Shimadzu GC MS 2010 lost communication with PC

Hi everybody!
I have a problem with Shimadzu GC QP-2010 equipped with Shimadzu MS 2010 plus and controlled by a PC via software GC solution ( real time analysis).
Unfortunately after 8 years, the battery on the CPU unit of the GC died so we had to replace it with a new one. We went to GC configuration and enter all the parts involved (i.e. the injector, the MS) etc. The problem is that the PC does not recognize the GC. The GC with the MS is connected through a RS-232 cable and then a USB cable connects MS with the PC. In the "Transmission parameters" we entered
Protocol: Level 3
Baud rate: 38400 and we tried again with 9600, but nothing happened.
The PC does not see the GC unit, and the GC unit does not see the temperature of the ion source of the MS.
Is there any idea????
Thanks a lot
Eleni

You shouldn't have to change anything with the PC settings since the problem was with the GC. Is there a 'communications' setting on the GC that was cleared and needs to be reset?
