Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience performing the content of triglcerides test using the USP method for glycerol tricaprylate.

I test Neobee/medium chain triglycerides on a normal db5MS column. They come off at 300-325 and show up as 4 main peaks glycerol (C8)3, (C8)2(C10)1, (C8)1,(C10)2, and (C10)3

I'm testing using GC-FID. My the solution I'm having problems with is a 20mg/ml solution of 1-octanoyl-rac-glycerol + 1-decanoyl-rac-glycerol in THF.

I'm getting very shark fin like chromatography and I'm wondering if this is normal especially as the column is rather small.

I'm using an agilent DB-5HT column with dimensions 10m x 0.32mm x 0.1um. for a 1ul injection with a split of 50:1. As its a pharmacopeia method I don't have much leeway to adjust the method parameters.
