I pratice tai chi every day, I like the precision and flow (like my HPLC?). I also enjoy cookery (very similar to lab work if you think about it!) and like walking in the Peak district in Derbyshire.

I enjoy beekeeping as a hobby that actually pays for itself!
I also like to do woodworking and gardening. I built some musical instruments for my children for Christmas last year. It was a big hit and I am hoping to find the time to buils some more to give away this year. My garden has been taken over by weeds, however!

I had an assistant who got obsessed with making his own T shirt transfers from photocopies in the days before useful computers - something to do with an iron and chloroform, as I remember it.
I collect 78s, myself. I got fed up with "the suit thing" so I don't do chromatography these days, I sing for my supper.
Royal Enfield? Nice bike, sorry to hear about the oil leak ...

Does schlepping kids from one sporting event/dance class to the next count as a hobby?
If not, then I guess I'd say that I write, I USED TO be a stand up comic (so reminiscing about it is now my hobby), and I organize old family photos.
By the way, I play bass, too, so if any of you guitar-slinging chromatographers need a bass player for your band ...

Eric - your hobby is classified as "taxi driver (unpaid)". We do not recommend that you put it on your CV, unless you also include "pointing at aeroplanes".
I used to do a bit of stand up, in the days when there were WM Clubs with people in them ...

Masters water polo - I finally graduate to the 30-40 age group next year! I have played water polo since I was 14, when my parents forced me to play, and I've loved it ever since. I've been playing longer than I haven't at this point in my life.
And to all you snickerers out there, there are no horses that may or may not drown in water polo. Also, you'd be lucky to leave with your life if you met me in 7 feet of water.

Nali,
Glad to see there is another cyclist out there! We had a cycling club at my former lab. The only problem is they are all climbers and I can't keep up in the hills.
To you motorized junkies, I would love to get a motorcycle then I can chase cyclists around on that instead of in a car. What's the quiestest bike out there?
Otherwise, I do tai chi, karate, yoga, and play waaay too much World of Warcraft with my 2 dachshunds in my lap.
I would get so much more living done if work didn't get in the way.
