				This is starting to sound like my torture trying to connect to a Varian 3900 with Galaxie.  
I think what ASM is proposing is this. Take your PC and connect it to another PC (off any network) that you also
the IP address yourself (say .105). Then you should see a connection. If you don't then your NIC card is
bad. If you do, then do the ip config to confirm that you can ping both the other and the Chemstation
PC's. If you can do that, then move your cable over to the GC again and see if you can ping the GC.
Is this on a true XP or is this on an XP shell under Win 7?
