I finally got a chance to work on the instrument again and it seems to be working now using Agilent IO Libs 15.5, Agilent 82357B USB/GPIB adapter, and Chemstation B.01.00, with an HP 5890 Series II GC / 5972 MS. I'm not exactly sure why it started working, but I am pretty sure changing the SICL name is what made it work. Thanks to everyone for the help with this!

I am still having a problem with getting Chemstation MSD to run with an unprivileged account (seems to work perfectly with my Admin account, but MSTOP.exe won't launch with user account). I've already granted the appropriate permissions to the folders, so there must be a subtle permission issue somewhere else.

[Edit]: Added name of adapter

Yes, I make folks Admins on instrument boxes because of this.

So just to recap, which USB/GPIB adapter are you using and you got it to work by changing the SICL name to hp82341?

Oh, and congrats! :D

I editted my previous post to add that information. And unfortunately making our users Admins is out of the question. On the old computer they didn't have to be Admins, so there must be some way to make it work on the new PC, its just a matter of finding that magic settings.
I am trying to set up MSD Chemstation Version B.00 on a 5972 MSD and a 5890 Series II GC. Everything seems to going good but when I go to run a sequence with the Chemstation software, I get an error after the first run ends and is about to start the next run. It says "sequence error or user abort" and it doesn't load the next line of the sequence. Has anybody seen this? Any ideas how to fix it?
