Cheminista: denial is not an argument. I am aware that one can use a type C C18 in RP mode and in ANP=HILIC mode. I can do the same thing with Resolve C18, and have done so as far back as 1979. C18 provides the RP retention, silanols the ANP retention. Same as on type C C18, right?

Gee, some people have closed minds around here.
I thought that this forum was supposed to be to offer advice and help with chromatography issues. It seems that it's just a place for column makers to hawk their products and pooh-pooh the products of their competitors.
I don't work for a column manufacturer, and I use columns from many different makers. I just wanted to note that I've had some very good results with some type c silica columns.
I won't be wasting any more of my time on this board. I have seen enough to know what companies to avoid when I want to buy new chromatography supplies, though.
Flame away!

I disagree with zoom,
The discussion was more on the mechanism of action than promoting one column over another... at least the points asked and answered had to do with chromatography than column promotion...

zoom and cheminista, if closed-mindedness is not a negative label (adjective) then what? This label is particularily strange since I talked about something different than for what I was labeled.
(had some virus problem + others got a new PC, thus a delay in answering).
