Clearly, you have to address the standards´stability first. Finding a solution for the groundwater might be diffrent, though. Didn´t anybody do this before?
Anyway, even when you lick the problems it should be clear that the values you get are only the concentration in groundwater at the point of sample taking/preparation.
Besides acid and antioxidants another trick that might improve stabilization is the addition of chelators like EDTA.
