How old is your EM? Could it have died on you suddenly?

I don't think so.
The EM voltage was normal

In the thread you jsut created you mentioned that you just cleaned the source. Could you have perhaps put the wires back on incorrectly?

I am guilty of flip-flopping the orange + blue, or forgetting them completely. :oops:

Same thing happened to me. Check that the GC column doesn't protrude more than 1/8 inch from the tube coming from the GC. It's easy for the column to be inserted too far into the source which can produce the symptoms you described.
