Hi, The 1100 LC column compartment can go up to 90 degrees. What you need is just a simple command from Chemstaion or a hand held controller. Agilent has a service note about this operation. If you cannot find it from Agilnet engineers, you may send me an email. I can tell you the command.

Thanks for all the suggestion.

Ultimately decided going on with the Eppendorf CH-430 column heater. I seemed to be an nice investment by the company..
