So double injection with those newfangled machines is easier than I thought. Learn something new all the time.

If the peaks are splitting because of the programming, wouldn't they split every time, not about 5 out of 10 times ?

That's what I thought, which is why I initially didn't even think of the program as being the cause. But once I changed it I ran 20 injections of 10% acetonitrile in diw with no column and had perfect peaks each time.
Why it wasn't consistently doing it, I have no idea. If I had been doing full loop injections with a 30ul loop instead of partial loop injections with a 50ul loop, my guess is that it would not have happened.
