There is a Memo allowing use of hydrogen carrier gas for drinking water compliance methods. (ATP Case No. D12-0003)

Thanks for the info koba, I saved a copy of that ATP for our QC officer in case any auditors happen to ask about us using Hydrogen in our current GC methods, and hopefully soon for GC/MS.

UPDATE:

6mm drawout plate had no effect. After receiving the less than encouraging email response from Agilent (They basically said it's an old instument, do everything in the power point and if it doesn't work then convert back to Helium), I have returned the instrument back to Helium. It now functions fine. I'm going to try this on a Shimadzu QP2010s now instead.

So.... here we go again. :salut:

We received the new power point and basically it seems that if there is differences in your ion ratio you are to live with it. They show the different spectra for a few pesticides but never even touch on tuning for 8260/8270 EPA criteria.

A few from here are going to Pittcon and this will be the big topic they will be asking around about next week. Maybe if enough people hit them up there they will give us a little more response on this. I do know the NELAC working group is discussing this and what to do about it and hopefully they can influence the EPA on it also.

There are a lot of oral and poster presentations on this topic that I will also be attending at Pittcon. I hope to get a little clearer picture through these discussions.

As I said earlier, we are also presenting a poster on using hydrogen carrier for VOC applications on Tuesday morning. I will also be at our booth off and on throughout the week, so feel free to stop by if you want to talk about this or any other application you might be working on.

I wish I was going this year, but I will send the guys that are around to visit. :)

Good luck on the presentation.
