It might be helpful to both the suppliers and to members of the Forum if you specify the vendors.

Nothing inproves quality in product faster than having a supplier find out that a competitor has a better product. This allows them to trouble shoot their own manufacturing process.

And if the Forum knows the facts, then they might check out both vendors if and when they may have the same problems.

This is interesting.. Molsieve 5A needs to produce a good CO peak. It depends on the way it's activated. We have been making a lot of fused silica as well as metal capillary 5A columns and there is a conditioninbg trick. I cannot support Ron's comments on low temp. conditioning as we do also use high temperature to "clean", but the way you do this is critical.
To much water at high temp. and you hydrolise the pores and you do not only loose CO but also O2.
