Arguably yes.

In regard to answers to your original question, though, there's something of a "blind men and the elephant" syndrome going on here. That initial conditioning probably does a number of things, and each of us focuses on one aspect! :lol:

I'm still curious to understand more about the conditioning step, particularly when the reasons for conditioning a C18 SPE don't seem to apply to PSDVB, yet, PSDVD SPE sorbant needs conditioned. Perhaps this step allows modest swelling, better access to pores?

Is there any difference if I apply 2 changes of MeOH instead of 1 change and also 2 changes of H2O versus 1 in the subsequent conditioning step for C18 SPE?
