And the front and back ferrules tighten together which clamps them on to the tubing?

Also, before I got spending $600, could someone tell me that none of these items in my cart is glaringly wrong and that I have everything I need(I'm getting a brass tubing cutter from Home Depot for $7 instead of Sigma's $40 one and I obviously have wrenches from home)?

Remember your O-rings for the inlet liner.

Also as a general rule of thumb, when you are buying fittings that need to seal perfectly, make sure they are from the same manufacturer for best results. Just making that point, you're on the right track already.

Just to keep everyone up to date on this(if you care), I began hooking everything up to discover I'm short a column nut and the zero air generator needs a catalyst replacement. Will advise when things are running!
What zero air generator are you using? If it's Parker TOC generator, it has a timer circuit which prompts a change of catalyst after 3 years (the check system LED starts flashing). As long as your baseline is clean, there's no need to change it. Mine has been flashing for 3 1/2 years and will keep flashing until I see some noise on the baseline.

Thanks for the input! It still heats up so I just got a quote to make sure I budget it in for the next 6 months then.

However, with everything finished and hooked up(capillary column install took me so long because I was freaking out about how fragile it might be), I started turning things on to find the hydrogen generator that I got used has a bum water pump. Hoorayyyy.
No need to start a new thread, but I have run in to a problem. I've got everything set up and I'm trying to do test runs. However, nothing seems to want to come out of the split inlet vent. I've tried opening up the "column head pressure" both ways, but nothing has come out of the split vent, at all. Every time I up the total carrier gas flow, it just all roars through the column. Does anyone have advice?

EDIT: Further info: I started tinker with the split solenoid tubing and it appears that the problem is in the column head pressure area. There is pressure going to that knob, but the line to the purge outlet is receiving no flow.
Ok, I've done as much as I can do to try to narrow this problem down. I'll be referencing this parts guide:

The pressure gauge is working, but nothing is coming out the split vent if I turn the column head pressure knob. I disconnected the line from the solenoid to the back pressure regulator and the gauge went to 0. Based on this, can it be safely said that I need a new back pressure regulator?
