When in doubt, r² coupled with a minimum of either 3x or 5x your noise level for LOD - LOQ determinations is a good (practical, if not necessarily theoretical) approach. Basically, you figure out your S/N, multiply by 3 or 5 and specify that as your minimum LOQ for trace analyses and your minimum LOD for more conservative calculations.
