:D Hi, The BetaBasic column from Thermo is stable from pH 1.5 to 10+, is mechanically stable and moderately priced.

DR: I am not touting the newest product lines of Waters, if I think that another product line might serve better. Ande2922 asked for something that is useful in a QC department. There, one usually wants to get the same results over and over again. This is why I recommended Symmetry.

If the higher pH is essential, my recommendation would be XTerra.
What about for small molecules that tail a lot on 3µ ODS-2 columns? Sunfire, or XTerra or another type?

I guess you are trying to get me to recommend Sunfire for something

Yes, I do recommend Sunfire C18 for stuff that tails a lot on an older C18...

A good column that I beleive meets many of your requirements is a Polaris C-18A, 5u, in the 150 x 4.6 length (other configurations are available). Available through Varian.

I would take an XTerra RP or XTerra MS.
We use it for both high and low pH, no problems at all, good lifetime (if used as recommended), ....

And I'm not from Waters...... 8)
