Hi Krickos!
how are you? i was wondering if you can email me the scan copy of Arsenic digestion from Chinese pharmacopoeia?
I will check the University library too on tuesday!
I have not only this sample but there are other samples too which gave me nightmares for Arsenic testing<211> USP.
Thanks

On vacation until end first week august. The text I gave you was taken from a scanned specific CP monograph sent to me by a collegue in China. Do not have the full CP in english close by, might be one in company libery but will try to remeber to check when back in office.

Hi

No luck yet, waiting on people in china to send us some appendicies like the one below in bold text.

Arsenide maximum 0.0002%, weigh 1g of product accurately, mixed with 1g of CaOH, add water with small amount, mix up, warm lightly then burn to ashing totally and to off white, cool, dissolve the residue into 8 mL of HCl and 20ml of water, determined it by C.P. 2010 Edition two, Appendix VIII J Method one.

Thanks Mr. Krickos!
received your message and email from Christian too. thanks a bunch:)
I received some appendicies of CP at my work email address, but i am looking for the one (Arsenic digestion method) you wrote here on September 5, 2011. (1 g of sample and 1 gram of CaOH) burning to ash and >>>>>
i wrote to christian that i want the Arsenic digestion method to get rid off matrix interference than i can follow usp for color development.
thanks alot and have a great week!
Hi

Well krickos and chris/christian is the same person, sorry for not mentioning that

Thing is, that general appedix in CP just like in other pharmacopieas tends to have the general procedures but digestions/sample preps/sample concentrations may be monograph specific hence all variants of sample prep is not mentioned in general chapter or appendix.

Thanks Mr. Chris/Christian/Krickos! But from which monograph you found that digestion procedure of taking 1 gram of sample and 1 gram of CaOH. i want to validate this digestion procedure for my crazy samples. If you please just send me scan copy of that monograph digestion procedure that would be very helpful. I am sorry keep bothering you but the digestion procedure you wrote sounds so good that i want to try it and makes everybody life easy here at the lab.

:)
thanks
