Try feeding Snow White some slop with a high green onion content. I suspect that in a few hours this may have a significant effect on the affinity of the small pigs for Snow White.

A seperation using a gaseous mobile phase may work, all you need is a high enough linear velocity, say 1500ms-1. This would allow for a seperation due to mass.
It might be difficult to devise a collection device for the seperated fractions. Possibly Agilents new N.E.T. system.

micropigs are known to enter into size specific complexing reactions with megapigs - they sort in linear order of size along specific binding sites on one side of the megapig molecules.

Hmm. I think I would propose water as the carrier. Perhaps a high pressure column (in the neighborhood of 5' ID) with sufficent loops (10?) and loop diameter (25?) where the pigs travel from ground level to an elution spot at the top of the column (can elute on to a rotating mesh-floor platform). That should provide separation by mass (I'd think) and with a high enough flow most pigs should survive.

Yes, that's the kind of set - up, although the modern trend is towards an organic immoblising substrate, usually some form a cellulose or lignin, rather than the ferro-silicate seen here. The organic substrates apparently give higher recoveries of micropigs and a longer lifetime for the Snow Whites.

And if there was a thread of the month prize - this would get it .

They may not fly, per say, but I'm sure they could be launched with similar results.

The assumption is made that pigs will spread apart to fill all available space, and while this is true for some smaller domestic animals most larger domestic animals tend to clump together in groups where the members vary in size. This can be easily seen on a trip along an interstate through farm country where you will see a large field with small areas of high farm animal density, while most of the field has a very low farm animal density. Pigs tend to arrange in clumps in an open field, especially if there is a pond or other moist depression.

You can't extrapolate large animal properties from familiar house pet properties, such as the well know case where there is more than adequate room for two adults in a queen size bed, but the addition of a single house cat to the bed leaves both adults clinging to the edge of the bed to avoid falling to the floor.

You are right, Ron, I forgot cat in a bed. In case of pigs, maybe could help placement of some gates with increasing size throughout the fild which could focus the pigs with similar size close together. Maybe.
