nice to see this thread rejuvenated. I'd endorse LC-GC too. The original list includes many serious, heavyweight works, the sort of stuff that a really professional analyst is proud to have learnt, and will return to periodically for refreshers. There are also slightly more introductory books, like de Hoffman and Stroobant's introduction to MS, which I also consider very valuable for those of us whose knowledge isn't quite so deep!
