For all of you running older computers and older software. One way of avoiding problems in the future is to convert the physical machine into a virtual machine using VMWare tools. That would give you an exact image of the physical machine but then virtual. You then can run the virtual machine on any newer operating system using VMWorkstation software.
LAN and RS232 connections can be set up in VMWare just like a physical machine.

Creating a ghost image from your hard disc trying to run it on a new piece of PC might not work as the drivers for the new hardware might not be present in e.g. Windows 95.

We received a donation to the university of a Varian Star Chromatography but its missing the software ¿Could anyone be kind and upload or send me the Star Chromatography Workstation Software. Also we need the a Serial number for LC?

Hi,
The HD of the computer controlling my Varian Prostar chromatograph broke and lost data and programs. Now, I have to (re)install the application Varian Star 6.4 which runs the equipment.
Could anybody please provide me with instructions as how to indicate the soft to communicate both isocratic pumps and the 325 UV/Vis detector with the computer?
