I wonder which one of the company has best to offer. I do have a DSQ Trace from Interscience and its problem with cleaning Ion source don't have to even mention. Is there any problems with Agilent?
Also, how about standard GC's from Interscience? Are they any good?I have only experience with HP 6890 with FID and FPD on-column injection.

I like the Agilent 6890GC and 5975MS. I've also tried the Agilent 7000 QQQ and it is very nice.
For a "best" instrument, it may depend on your application. I've seen some applications that seem to go well with an instrument from one vendor, while others go well on a different instrument.

In some cases, the quality of instrument performance is related to local service. And this depends on your location.

This particular topic has been brought up before and there is some good general advice from a number of us on the instrument selection process. Take a look through back threads and you will find the discussion.
Thank you for your reply, I will definitely have a look on that, thanks!

Vendors will do their best to offer service with their equipment, but as stated previously, your laboratory's location will be a factor in determining the level of service. Where are you located?
dbfolk thank for your reply, I am in The Netherlands, at University, measuring total lipid extracts within geoscience faculty
