XLS report in GC Chemstation

Hello,

I just started working in a new place and one of the analysis in here is of fatty acids in GC. The data amount is pretty huge and at the moment the report is printed out and wrote to excel afterwards by typing it in. After first time doing it I realized I really don´t want to do it again and discovered that the Chemstation has an option to print the report to .xls file. So i went to report->specific report->ticked XLS and to file-> pressed OK. Nothing hapend, I tried to search with windows search and browsed all the data folders and found nothing. I also tried print report after I ticked the to file and .xls but this also didn´t have any results. Has anyone had the same problem or know where I can get help.

You are looking in the subdirectory (individual data directory .D), correct? I've done this with ChemStation, but older versions, haven't used B.

We have a macro custom written by Agilent (we paid for it) to calculate fatty acid equivalent weight, iodine value, and "acid value" for us, using a Custom Report. That saves us from pasting into an Excel template to have Excel do the calculations.

Just last week I was looking for sodium stearate distributions in solid deodorants (don't confuse those with antiperspirants).

Assuming everything is default on your computer and you only have 1 GC, it is here:

C:\Chem32\1\DATA\*The Prefix File Name*.D

Open the .D folder and the XLS file is there. Everytime you print for that sample or print preview, it will overwrite the old XLS file and create a new one.
