Dear members,

Can anyone suggest me a way (if it does exist) of restoring a silica column. Someone has washed it by mistake with water (for a long time I'd rather don't know how long is it) and I don't know if it will survive. I need the column to run an analisys in 2 days and I'm worried because it is the only silica column I have in my laboratory.

Regards,

Dea

Switch to pure methanol and then work your way back down the polarity series until you get to your desired mobile phase.

you can use ACn or methanol and run for 2 to 3 hours then your come back to same condition but in future if you use high % of water then use Floro column
thanks
