May I ask why the filament always burn out even no leakage when initial run? the burn out's filament is shown when the trap emission shown its abnormality after run several sample.

May I know the reason?

Thanks..:)
Well, maybe that is because of sample?

Do You switch off filament during the solvent elution? Maybe the analyte itself is reactive and present in high concentration.
Inject only low conc. samples and keep it OFF while solvent elutes. Filaments burn when they are ON with a lot of molecules to ionize.

How long should we set for the methanol's solvent delay?

Thanks for the fast reply.

Thanks.

It depends on the column dimensions, GC oven temperature and gas flow.

In most cases 2.5-3 minutes is enough for 25-30 m columns.
Thanks.:)
