Does anyone know what Instrument failure W2690/5@2 in the empower message window mean? it also says W2690/5 2 IEEE488 failure. What do I do to fix it?
empower failed to connect to w2690

- make sure IEEE488 is properly connected
- system is powerd on
- system is on line (>configure systems >?systems? >"status/online ok" (or left click on system, "bring online")

Tipp: if system is already listed online, maybe "take offline" then "bring online" again.
Hi,

Make sure the IEEE address for the alliance is per the software. Check the config of the alliance.
to expand on^ - there is a little battery in each component, when they die, the IEEE reverts to the default setting. If that happens not to match what you are looking for, or there's another component on the same LAC/E w/ the same address, nothing will work right.
Thanks,
DR
