After getting the system validated and running smoothly we had a motherboard die and due to the age of it could not get a like for like replacement. We decided to get a new system and revalidated the system including the software.

We have installed the software now and i was copying the old method (via windows) into the new systems directory but when i go to run the methods they are not listed as available to select. When i created a new method it appears and can be used but my old methods are no longer listed.

If go to method>open method then they are listed there but when i create a sequence or do a quick start they are not available. Also on the old methods when i click on the control tab nothing is listed.

Any ideas?

MJ

Also at add to my problems the when i run a dual wavelength method the real time window doesnt show me the real time chromatogram but for a single wavelenght its ok. Any ideas on this as well.

We have reinstalled the software so it could be a software or method item i havent ticked or activated.

Thanks

When I print the HPLC method i get the follow error message on page 2.

An error occured while printing this section. (Internal error message = Assertion failure (d:\compilation\orlando_2000\Washi2\Shared\W2_Builder.pas,line 458)).

Anyone had this error before?

To the Dual-WL issue
If it´s a 325, the firmware should be greater than 2
...Varian also released some Service packs, did you try them

Best regards
Chris

Thanks Chris,

I am running my single wavelength methods at 280nm. Now i want to look at both 280 and 192nm but when i change the method to dual wavelengths it runs the method but i cant see any real time chromatogram. When the sequence finishes i open the chromatograms and there seems to be no data for either of the wavelengths.

However if i run 280nm and 281nm it work ok. What is the limit of the 325 detector? Is it capable of going down to this wavelength?

We have firmware 1.7 would this be affecting it?

Regards

I think I can remeber that there had been some issue with real Time display at dual WL, I think the Times for the Channels were different...I´m not sure if its similar to your issue.
Firmware -Upgrades are in my opinion the last step, in every case you will have to re-calibrate the detector.

I´d ask the varian service for that....

Best regards
Chris

Bob, how do you copy/paste a whole chromatogram report? Preferably the WHOLE page, Chromatogram and peak table and everything. I see how to copy just the chromatogram. This would be very useful to me as currently we have to sign every single chromatogram from a sequence because they are not numbered sequentially as a whole package.
If we could paste all the chromatograms into one document and print that, we would only need to sign the first page as per GMP.

MJ, I suggest creating a wavelength program to switch the wavelength at some point If that works, then its something wrong with the dual, and not the range of the instrument. We run in dual with no problems, but a Varian tech suggested we just switch wavelengths when the second analyte peak elutes to save some data space. (This only works well because the peaks are around 7 minutes apart...verrrry resolved).

Does anyone know a lot about reports in Galaxie? I would like to print comparison chromatograms or I'd even settle for overlays. But it doesn't matter what visual setup I have in Galaxie, it will only print the chromatogram that is selected.

Do I have to create a report style with more than one chromatogram on it and then select that in the print option where you find the Overlay etc?

Thanks.

Could you print to .pdf then print and sign while also having an electronic copy. We use the pdf function for distribution of reports by email but could see it work for you, if I understand your requirements.

Ok, I figured out how to create the PDFs, however, they are still all made as separate files. So this is the same as just printing the chromatograms directly. Is there any way to export all chromatograms to ONE pdf???
Thanks dpr

Hi,
Printing several times to a single PDF file is a functionality of the PDF program used. It is possible with many (most?) PDF applications, for iinstance, PDFfactory and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Hope it helps.

It is indeed not possible with Galaxie to print several report in one.
Except from the Workspace (F3 key).
Create a report corresponding to what you want to print, then use the stack view or overlay, etc view. Then, you can print a report of the displayed data.
But, it is not possible to do so automatically. This option works only manually.
It is not possible here to print as pdf.
Sorry for the late answer, hope it could help.
