Hello,
My lab is looking to purchase a GC-MS system, however we would like to spend as little as possible. So, we are considering some of the much older models, such as the HP 5890/5971. How difficult is it aquiring software for these older models? Is there anything we should have in mind if we decide to follow through with this? Thanks
I can supply replacement software/media for this (G1034C or G1701AA), but you will need your Agilent 10-character license number, typically on a sticker on the MSD.

I cannot remember what version of Windows goes with what software/MSD, however, been too many years.....our 5971 was purchased new with Windows 386, later updated to Windows 3.

Yes, I used 5890/5971 unit for years, great unit. I have no idea what parts are still available however.

If a computer is not included, you may need a GPIB/HPIB board; I don't know if I have any 82350-66501 GPIB boards (82350) or 82235 GPIB/HPIB boards still available, would need to check.
