nanoESI purchase advice

Discussions about GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, and other "coupled" analytical techniques.

Hello everyone,

we would like to purchase a nanospary sytem for our mass specs (LCT and Premier, Micromass). We are thinking of the Nanomate system from Advion. We plan to use this system for metabolite screening and some protein work (basically to reduce sample consumption and, hopefully, ion supression as well). For the first application, it would be nice to also have a nanoLC, but unfortunately, Nanomate has no such capability.

My questions are:
1. What is your impression of Nanomate ?
2. Could you please recommend other nanoESI (or nanoLC/MS) systems that are on the market in a price range below $50-60K.

Thank you.
Hello,

Eksigent (www.eksigent.com) makes a very good nano-flow LC system which is splitless and works very well in the low nL/min range. I think
it is about $45K. Others systems are available from Agilent, Waters, lC Packings etc but I think the Eksigent is probably the best. Of course... I am a little biased.

Best of luck!
