GC headspace blanks problem

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing issues with blank contamination in my Agilent GC headspace system. We use 20 mm HS AL crimpcaps with PTFE/S septa from Agilent, but recently, we've noticed consistent contamination in our blanks, particularly with benzenes such as p-isopropylbenzene, 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene, and 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene.We suspect that the septa might be the source of the contamination. Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, do you have any recommendations for alternative crimpcaps that could help mitigate this problem?

Thanks in advance!
All the GC consumables suppliers carry headspace crimp caps. There is, of course, the danger that they are all sourcing them from the same mega-factory in China.
