I inherited an Agilent LC/MSD Trap XCT (G2446A) with Trap Control software 5.3.

I made a fresh install on Windows XP and set the NIC to 192.168.254.1 /255.255.255.0 / Firewall is turned off

PC and Trap physically connected via switch. The LED`s are blinking. Traffic seems to be present.

When installing TC 5.3 and starting the software there comes the message "Can`t connect to Trap" (or something like that).
It seems that the Bruker Bootp doesn`t send the IP to the Trap. The Bruker Bootp is running!

Does anybody know what the problem may be or where to look if the Bootp sees the MAC adress from the Trap?
Are there any known problems with some NIC`s or BIOS settings?

I installed on different PC`s (Acer, Dell, HP all older models) with XP, Win 7 and also Win 10 all x86 versions). Everytime the same message.

The trap was in working order when shutdown. Unfortunately I don`t have (and will not get) the original PC.
I have the Original Software that belongs to this instrument so softwae seems not the problem.

Any idea is greatly welcome.

Thank you in advance.
