Purge & Trap is not purging!

Dear chemists!

I hope you can help me with a trouble on my Eclipse 4760 P&T (coupled with an 4551A autosampler). Basically it's not doing one of the two things it's supposed to do, is not purging.

After a long period of inactivity (one year) the instrument does not produce bubbling in the sparger. The pressure and the flow are ok (Flow 40 ml/min and System Pressure 20 psi), leak tests are succesfully passed, all the screw are tested and there is no bubbling after soap-testing all the screw, Helium pressure from the tank is ok. It seems that the only thing non ok is the bubbling in the sparger . I also tried to change the sparger.

I am completely new in the field of the Purge and Trap system, so hope you can help me and forgive my ignorance.

I don't know the Eclipse. Could there be a valve that isn't switching correctly?

Somewhere between your cylinder and sparge tube, there's a problem. I would want to try to disconnect the tubing at points along the relevant flow path one at a time to try and isolate the problem. If it can be done safely, I'd also try using a multimeter to make sure the valve is getting a signal to switch at the right time.
