Comparison of Z-HILIC Columns

Discussions about HPLC, CE, TLC, SFC, and other "liquid phase" separation techniques.

2. Atlantis Premier BEH Z-HILIC VanGuard FIT Column, 2.5 µm, 2.1 mm x 150 mm

Does anyone have experience using either of these columns for general metabolomics applications? I am having trouble deciding which one to get. One seems to offer higher chemical stability at extreme pH values while the other can tolerate significant more backpressure. If anyone has used both, your input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Hi,

We have been using an Acquity Premier Z-HILIC 2.1x100, 1.7um for quite a while now. I cannot compare with the Poroshell but compared to the older BEH Amide or HILIC, we observed that retention times were much more stable within and inter-batches. Also, it somehow provided better peak shapes for some difficult compounds (e.g. phosphated) but in our applications I would say the effect was rather marginal.
