Hi,

I have a question. what happens when you do not remove stainless steel sinkers when washing a UPLC system with 30% phosphoric acid? Does the phosphoric acid hurt the sinkers? I know that HASTELLOY SINKERS must be removed.

Thank you
Hello

In case of using phosphorice acid for system acidic cleaning :
You should remove the solvent filters, and remove any peek fitting or peek tubing (if used in your UPLC system), in addition to you need to disconnect the tube to flow cell of TUV/PDA, which mean you should not pass any phosphorice acid to your flow cell of the detector

This will increase life time of flow cell, any also will avoid any distortion in any peek part in your system..

My lab inherited a Waters 1515 Isocratic pump. I have been working with it occasionally the past couple of years. Recently it appears that the pressure transducer has become clogged. Mobile phase is not coming out of the transducer.

How difficult is it to replace a transducer? Any chance that I can fix this problem short of replacing the transducer? This pump is not under a service contract; it sees little use.
Can give a small push we are near but cant get the Console display

We are experiencing partial display on UPLC Control console. We are using Empower2 2154 with installed 1.65 ICS. MS FrameWorkNet 3.5v. It shows NOT CONNECTED with Red dot on both BSM,ASM also configured by DHCP,MAC address etc. Surprising thing is that our instrument activates Pump and autosampler works still showing not connected sign. WinXp with SP 3 .3.5FrameworkNet is also installed. The moment v select the Run Sample it appears with Black Bottons flashing but in fraction of seconds and then Red light and Not Connected appears. However v manages to run flow rate as per program and acquisition window also displays that its in operation. But v cant stop the system neither the Sampler Green button do anything. Can you guide us from this now.

Plz guide from here. Its our first time with Acquity system
Thanks and Best regards

hello,
Is there way to transfer HPLC method to UPLC method?
thanks
This has been covered here and at many other sites. Check the sticky postings, references and google for guidance. There are also online calculators that can help you.
Hi, I need to replace tubing in Column Manager (old one) as it got plugged for good... How on earth can one access this low pressure valve? I spent two hours today trying to figure out how to disassemble it, would be easy if somebody thought and put screws/nuts under valves other way around. As it is I see no way to unscrew it, as the middle (cooler) part interlocks with valves. Any help?
Hi,
Our XevoTQD hooked up to Acquity H-Class UPLC is not communicaitng with Masslynx. We can't conduct EPC reset through the hole since that button is not responding (not making any beep noise). We can't do EPC reset through command lines since it is not pinging EPC (MS)...
Since soft-reboot wasn't possible we tried power cycle (venting and recycle) but it is still not connecting to masslynx or showing up on DHCP server.
Please let me know what I can do. Thanks
Yes, I really hate how the reset switch is designed on the Xevos.
How about through Console | System | Troubleshoot | Scan Instruments
Does it give IP addresses for the MS and all modules? Perhaps a cable is loose or the IP address was corrupted somehow?
I believe I had a similar problem in the past. Not only did we have to power cycle, but also unplug the MS power cord for 5-10 minutes to give time for the capacitors to discharge.

And for others who might be stumbling across this topic, there are several ways to reboot the epc. Through the pinhole on the front of the mass spec; through Tune | Setup |Communications Status; and through Hyperterminal (or equivalent) reboot command.
Much of this may apply as well:

Well I have replaced new lamp and new flow cell but 2998 never eve passes wavelength Calibration test neither the Erbium wavelength values gets closer to required wavelength ranges as mentioned in OP guide..
Flow cell is firmly slot in with guide pin also D2 lamp is properly installed.
On startup green lights comes normally then after few moments and erbium.filter motor movement it appears with red light with D2 lamp still glowing and give Wavelength Calibration Error
Tried almost all remidys changing solvents from water to formic acid,IPA,ACN etc.

Re installed the Firmware and ICS

I WISH TO KNOW ON STARTUP WITHOUT ANY ETHERNET CONNECTIONS WHY THE DETECTOR GIVE THESE ISSUES ONCE WE HAVE NEW FLOW CELL AND LAMP.

ALSO WHAT SHOULD BE THE READ ENERGY TYPICAL VALUES ON ERBIUM AND CLOSE POSITIONS IN 2998 CANSOLE AT 254NM OR 190-500 OR 190-800 NM SETTINGS ITS NOT MENTION ANYWHERE IN 2998 OP OR ANYOTHER LITERATURE AVAILABLE FROM WATERS
PLZ GUIDE WE HAVE COUPLE OF UNITS SITTING SICK WITH SAME PROBLEMS
