The instrument would start the roughing pump normally and the turbo would start accelerating normally until the ion gauge would just show a number (around 20 or 30) and the instrument would venting right away. I took the ion gauge off and test with a multimeter, I can see the ion gauge has continuity on both filament that is all I can tell. Any one can help to diagnose what might be the problem? The ion gauge? Could it be the ion-gauge controller? Or the turbo is not up to speed? How to test them? Anyone know how to monitor the MS parameter in detail in general? For Thermo instrument you can see every parameter in detail, but I don't know if there is way to do that for Sciex instrument. Thank you.
I would mention that this instrument was running normal before I shut it down to do the PM service which included cleaning the front end, Qjet and the two quadrupole as well. Thanks again.
