Hi,

does anyone know wether an PEEK UPLC needle can be used to inject a solvent mixture of 20%DMSO in water?
I know DMSO may cause swelling of PEEK, but what about 20% DMSO in water?

Kind regards

Ace

I know that PEEK columns (monolith columns) shouldn't be used with more than 5% DMSO, 5% methylene chloride and more than 50% THF in the mobile phase.

But when it comes to PEEK needle I am not sure. Just for security I would suggest you to stick to the given (previously) limits for the solvents when using everything that is made of PEEK (columns, tubings, needles)

Hope this helps,
Regards
It exist steel needle for UPLC. It may be the best solution for you.

Thank you for coming up with the SS needle, but I already knew about the SS needle, but I think it's not feasable to always change the needle for 1 method, while the other methods are using PEEK needles.
