I'm looking to modify a Dionex IC method based on an AS7 column. The recommended separation is based on dilute nitric acid (~22mM) in water as the eluent. In the near future I expect we'll be running a CAD or ELSD and ultimately switching to a MS sometime next year. Because of this, I need to find an equivalent volatile eluent. Acetic acid seems like a good choice. Can anyone recommend an alternative or a conversion method to use as a starting point?
