Not for peak symmetry: the XTerra is perfectly fine for that. The key advantage of the XBridge packing over the XTerra packing is the hydrolytic stability at alkaline pH. This is the reason why I am generally recommending the XBridge column over the XTerra column. If somebody does not want to use hybrid packings, I recommend the silica-based SymmetryShield packing, which actually comes in two chain lengths.
